Alexandria Pompey's pillar.

One of the remarkable structures that were built during the reign of (emperor Diocletian ) in Egypt is Pompey's pillar. The column is now standing in the heart of Alexandria on top of a temple ruin's which was built during the Ptolemaic kingdom in 297 AD. The pillar's base diameter is 2.71 Meter and was carved out of red granite brought from Aswan city. The net weight of the pillar is 285 ton and reaches 26 meters high with the base. The prime sight was built to commemorate the victory of Emperor Diocletian over an Alexandrian revolt.

The pillar which was erected in honour of Diocletian has been given the name of Alexandria Pompey's pillar which makes no sense or show the connection to any facts. There were stories told about the given name which assign the pillar to the Roman general Pompey who was murdered by Cleopatra's brother. Some said the crusaders from the middle ages thought that the general's ashes were inside a pot on top of the pillar, but that was proven a mistake.

Grand Egyptian museum.

When the grand Egyptian museum opening is about to happen, it will be the biggest historical centre committed to one single civilization. The structure will be standing only 2 kilometres away from the three pyramids of Giza and will house apportion of Egypt's most valuable relics and antiques. It is expected that the landmark can receive 5000,000 visitors annually. The Grand Egyptian museum took more than a decade to get in shape and cost more than one billion $. The 5.2 million foot square museum will open in 2020. Authorities said that the soft opening probably will be in January, and the rest of the place will be done and ready to attract guests in July. These dates are not accurate, but we are waiting anyway for this huge building to finally open the doors for us. Sources been revealed that the conservation centre of the museum has received more than 46,000 artefacts to be refurbished before being displayed at the opening. Also, the organic lab has received the boy king Tutankhamen treasures for restoration, and for the first time, the full collection of king Tut will be displayed at one place since the tomb was discovered in 1922.

Sacred Isis Temple History.

 - Isis the sister and devoted spouse of Osiris, dwelt in the temple pf Philae according to the ritual, Isis would visit her husband on special occasions, travelling the short distance in her sacred bark, amidst solemn ceremonies.

- The temple of Isis on the island of Philae was famous during the Graeco-Roman period.

- After the erection of the earlier dam at Aswan, the floodwaters inundated the island so that only the tops of the pylon were visible above the water.

- The construction of the much higher Sadd el-Aali(The high Dam) threatened to engulf the island permanently. Consequently, the entire sacred complex of Philae had to be moved to a nearby island, Agilkia, which is higher than Philae.
