In ancient Egyptian religion, khnum or gnome, a god that was depicted as a ram, or a man with a ram's head and two horns (perhaps the name of the sheep was derived from it). [1]  According to ancient Egyptian belief, Khnum performed the material creation of man from the silt of the Nile on the pottery wheel.  And some accounts say that he used to form small children from the Nile silt available in Aswan and put them in the womb of their mothers.  He worshiped in various places in Egypt such as Aswan, Esna, and Memphis (Memphis) as the god who came with the Nile to establish life on its banks.
