 It is located on a ro

cky mountain on the western bank of the Nile and includes the graves of nobles and the leaders of the ancient state until the Ptolemaic era and Roman Egypt.  Most of these tombs date back to the era of the Sixth Dynasty to the Twelfth Dynasty.
