Perfume vase symbolizing the union of the two lands

Perfume vase symbolizing the union of the two lands

Perfume vase symbolizing the union of the two lands or "sema-taouy" (alabaster) The tomb of Tutankhamun (1340-1331 BC) was discovered by Howard Carter in November 1922. The pharaoh died at 19, his mummy was in a solid gold coffin, placed inside 2 wooden coffins. These 3 coffins were in a quartzite sarcophagus with a red granite cover. Around the sarcophagus, nested in each other, 4 gilded wooden chapels which entirely occupied the room of the sarcophagus. All ointment deposits, whether they have classic shapes or reproduce beneficial animals from the bestiary, have been cut in alabaster. Since the first dynasties, the precious "dishes" of the dead were made of them.JG/LBN
