Feel her pain before the pain.

 Al-Hakim (Ptahhotep) says about 4400 years ago:

"If you want wisdom, love your partner, take care of her; take care of your home, feed her properly, clothe her back and cover her, embrace her and fulfil her request, open her your arms, and invite her to show your love for her, explain her chest and bring happiness to her heart throughout her life; it is a good field. Never be harsh on her, for cruelty is a ruin of the house that you founded, it is the house of your life you have chosen before the Lord, you are responsible for it before him, keep it as long as she is alive, it is the gift of the Lord, who responded to your prayers. (She feels her pain before she suffers) If you make them happy, make them happy, it is a trust in your hand and your heart. She has sworn to the Lord’s mihrab to have a brother, a father and a partner. ”
