The legend of Isis and Osiris .. Beautiful miniature piece of Egyptian goldsmithing preserved since 1872 in The Louvre Museum in Paris. It has measures of only 9 cm high by 6 cm wide, and the materials used in its detailing are not very stranded: gold, lapis lazuli and glass. This small work of art dates back to the 9th century BC. and it has engraved on the central pillar the name of the pharaoh of the XXII dynasty Osorkon II, discovered precisely in his tomb in the Tanis necropolis, located in the Nile delta. The figures that we observe made in gold, three important represent gods of the pantheon from Ancient Egypt: Pharaoh Osorkon II himself, 4 cm tall and in the role of the god Osiris, sitting in the centre on a quadrangular lapis lazuli pillar; Horus, located on the left with the typical falcon head; and finally, the female goddess Isis, with the usual cow horns.

The protective gesture of extending his hand from the two lateral deities on the seated statue of Osiris is striking. On the other hand, as is typical of Egyptian sculpture, they put a foot forward to the images to give movement to the work, but that does not avoid the traditional rigidity that we always see in this art. The organization Osiris is the peculiar cube statue that does not represent the reduction of anatomical study to the maximum, already scarce in general, as we can includeobar in its two companions.
