The ancient Egyptians were more keen on the "purity of the mouth" and they believed that when the mouth was clean, the methodologies of the pure were removed, so they cleaned their mouths with water and salt of nitrate several times daily in a place called (pr dwꜣ bar dua), that is, the house of purification.
